In n out is best known for its simple menu of burgers, milkshakes, fries and fountain drinks. They are also known for an extensive Secret Menu. However, the famous fast food chain hasn’t added an official menu item in more than 15 years, when they added lemonade. In November, they added Hot Cocoa with mini marshmallows and Twitter and Instagram freaked out.

It’s been a decade since #InNOut added a menu item & this is what we get?
Give me bacon, give me breakfast, give me bbq sauce, give me chicken strips, give me different sized fries, give me ANYTHING else in consistent 75 degree weather. pic.twitter.com/ysrcOgmRSO

But the Hot Cocoa is actually not a new item at all. According to a statement from In-N-Out president Lynsi Snyder, “This is actually the return of hot cocoa. My grandparents, Harry and Esther Snyder, served it for many years beginning in the ‘50s. I’m not sure how it fell off the menu but it’s part of our culture and something special for kids, and I’m happy that we’re bringing it back.”

An 8 0unce cocoa is only $1.65, it’s made from water and Ghirrardelli cocoa and optional mini marshmallows. I tried it today and it did not disappoint. How do you feel about the Hot Cocoa addition to the In n Out menu?
